“top 10 or 20 in gir every year? try 1st ” especially considering he primarily plays only the hardest courses (the majors, etc…). Alot of other guys on tour play more events on easier setups. The above commentors simply reveal how little they know about the technical aspects of a golf swing. Good call aelwind.

soooo true mate, i copy my swing to tiger, were as im told by my coach to mock ernie els swing. …cos i look up to tiger and his swing, ive dropped 9 shots won 4 tournaments, and got called the superstar for the future by my pro and all the scratch golfers in my club.

Seconded. Acute and insightful observation. No. 1 in GIR = no. 1 swing. No other way to compare as aesthetics at that level are relatively meaningless.

Address the ball, bet your feet into position and let your arms hang down limply from your shoulders. That is the position they should be in at address or very close to that, if your natural address is more bent over your hands will be closer to your knees, if you stand up more you’re hands will be more vertical.

The key is to be natural, if you have to force something odds are you are doing it wrong.

i have looked and analyzed tigers swing many times but there is one thing he does with his legs i just don’t see

Shoulders do not start the downswing in any great swing, for sure. Even more to the point, the arms are swinging down the right path and plane at a rate _faster_ than the “uncoiling” of the shoulders; that is, in every great swing, the shoulders do not drag the arms through impact. The body is moving to support the swinging motion of the arms and the club and to add some amount of force. In a down-the-line shot, you can see this in how the hands move downward relative to the right shoulder.

just let your arms hang down naturally, and with tiger’s legs, on his transition he creates a power squat on the beginning of the downswing and this creates more torque and power

wrong. a perfect round of golf isnt 18 or more under par. In fact if you want to go that route, then even par would be a perfect score, that makes more sense if ur going that route, but neither are correct. In a perfect round of golf you would shoot an 18, until you get there, you can always get better. perfect means the best possible- nothing better, and there’s no round better than 18 on 18 holes.

According to his book, he “snaps” his left knee on the downswing, which he believes clears his hip and creates tremendous power. He says it’s an unorthodox move.

The commentator says that to ‘drive the ball solidly, your spine angle should shift to the right.’ True, but in actuall fact your spine angle should not shift, instead if you maintain the spine angle and POSITION from address until impact, then your spine angle will TILT to the right because you are playing the ball further forward in your stance. Therefore, to drive the ball solidly, rotate around a stationary spine angle throughout the entire swing. Hence, you wont risk injury this way.

READ THIS!
everybody thinks that because tiger woods is number one golfer his swing is perfect, when its not! thousands of video discribes his swing and invent stupids lines like “at that moment his arm is perfectly parallel to his eyebros” and stupid things like that…tigers the best because he handles pressure like no one does and beacause his the best putt player ever!!! and thats it!! notice thats his not even so accurate with his drive! so thats what i think!

yeah no offence but tiger’s swing isnt that great earnie and adam has better swings
its just that he just gets his irons next to the hole when its important and he puts when he needs to. thats probably the only reason he is so god

Couldnt agree more, to have consistent and solid impact your hands should ‘free fall’ downward without the shoulders interacting.

cash, a perfect round of golf is one in which the weather is perfect, I’m riding the cart with my buddy, and time away from the wife. That’s a perfect round.

i agree his swing isnt perfect but its pretty close….also he is always top10 or 20 g.i.r. every year which makes him really consistent

re: stfuuuuuu…. As mentioned briefly, Tiger’s swing is fundamentally sound in almost every way. His positions are almost perfect (if you knew anything about golf you’d know how hard that is). His sequence is practically flawless, and his flexibility is amazing. He also has tremendous consistency. He WINS because of his mind though. But don’t even try to say Adam Scott or Ernie Els have better swings, because they don’t. Close, but Tiger has one of the best swings in golf history.
