Your dad might remember Ange’s “understudy”, a guy by the name of Larry Zimmerman. “Zimmy” is still there, now the superintendent himself. Those of us who remember are grateful for Ange and the work he did at Good Park. There should be a placque at least to commemorate him there.

The grip is the foundation of your golf swing and developing the right grip is critical to your success in hitting the ball farther and straighter. There are many different grips out there that you can use.

Yeah, I was just kidding about you being banned. I knew Ange fairly well. He was the superintendent. You should know that Good Park was then and still is the finest public course in Akron. I was a junior golfer when I knew him. He was extra-nice to us young boys learning the game in the 1970′s. You were named after a good man, Ange.

    did you know him closely?

He was the superintendent at a municipal course in Akron, Ohio called Good Park. I was sure you were related to him.

The two best golfers of all time–Tiger and Jack–use tons of leg drive. This is the problem with golf pro’s nowadays. If you’re a very handsy player with upper-body strength, you want little leg drive, like Arnold Palmer. If you’re weak in the hands like Jack, you want tons of leg drive. Tiger is a mixture of both, however he is more toward the leg-drive swing in my opinion. The golf swing is not a “one size fits all” type of thing. And the swing hasn’t changed in 100 years.

No your true man, had one dude at my golfcamp doing exactly that thing, opening your hips that much will indeed couse a reverse pivot!

Who is the instructor? Is it Brady Riggs

LOL..Themutmooty..you’re wrong .This what pivot mean in the backswing and downswing.Try it man…It will gives more solid contact and yards..

wow! you are a complete dumbass! ……”altering dynamic posture or creating a reverse pivot.”…….do you know what the fuck you just said?!?! by opening his hips, hes allowing for a big shift forward with his whole body on the downswing, eliminating ALL possibilities of an over the top action, and by opening the hips, he almost has TOO MUCH weight behind the ball, not a fuck reverse pivot.. you dont know what the hell ur saying, please shut the hell up….. i hate stupid people *shiver*

Ignore this attempt at instruction…This guy doesn’t use his legs correctly… look at how he twists his hips to allow a backswing….that is not a reliable, repeatable movement….such a movement results in the straightening of the right leg…consequently altering dynamic posture or creating a reverse pivot… hence why the guy never looks to make a full shoulder turn as he would not be able to get back to the ball without coming over the top!

can anybody check out my video n welcome comments!

The legs are naturally supportive, you dont even have to think about it. Its called standing ;)
I am not so sure about “quite legs”, as the body rotates, the legs must move.

i have problems with my left knee! i carn’t get it in the right postion? any tips?

  22. Anonymous says:

I tend to kick my right knee in, and it does throw my upper body out of line and I’m working on your tips. I hit the ball very solidly today and with less active knees…thanks!

  24. Anonymous says:

finaly someone who knows the golf swing, ppl listen to this vid, everyone on here teaches either a chest swing or a body swing, no, this guy tells ya right, the legs are there to keep you from falling down, not hit the ball harder, NICE VID guys!!!

Good instructions and well described in this short clip.
Even in 80′s, older pros were instructing
knees “kicked in” and having inside strain.

I think the “active knees” he is talking about can be seen in Nicklaus and Hogan’s swings.
But that worked fine for those Master’s.
    Thanks for posting.
